Lesson Times at the Studio in Brighton (all categories)

Flexible, fixed and intensive fixed lessons are available within the following times:

Monday 9am-9pm

Tuesday 9am-9pm

Sunday 9am-9pm

Note: for A Level students & Adult Learners, the minimum lesson time on these days is 2 hours.

Lesson Times at the Studio in Brighton (intensive lessons only)

Friday 9am-5pm

This day is exclusively reserved for intensive lessons, meaning at least 4 hours must be booked.

This can be 4 hours straight, such as 1pm-5pm, or with a break in the middle, such as 10am-12pm & 1pm-3pm.

For those wanting to make a lot of progress, the full day can be booked at the maximum 7 hours (9am-12pm & 1pm-5pm).

Timing

  • Lesson time will be counted and charged from the beginning of the time booked. For example, if a lesson is scheduled for 2pm-4pm, but the student arrives at 2:15pm, the lesson will still end at 4pm and the full two hours will be charged.  This is so that other lessons can begin on time and personal committments can also be fulfilled.
  • There can be no changes to the lesson time at short notice. A request to change the start and end time of a lesson will be considered a request to cancel and re-book the lesson (see cancellations policy). If I have received a short-notice cancellation      from another student, then I may offer a more desirable time, but this would be the only exception.
  • It is recommended that students aim to arrive a minute or two prior to the beginning of the lesson.  Please do not arrive more than a few minutes early as sometimes there is only a short turnover period between different students having lessons and they need time to pack up and leave.  I also need time to clear up and prepare the studio.

Note: Until 22nd April 2025, the usual rules and norms on scheduling will apply. Anyone who paid for a block of hours prior to 22nd April 2025 will only be subject to the previous rules and norms until all of those hours have been used.

Home-Based Lessons & Courses

Cancellation of Lessons

Cancellations - 24 hour policy (effective from 22nd April 2025)

When making a booking, the fee covers not only the lesson itself, but also the time.

Every booking is a time period that is specially reserved and will not be offered to another student. Therefore, students will often have to book lessons that are not at the ideal times for them (due to their preferred times already being reserved for another student).

This means that my time periods are not only valuable me, but also to my students.

With the above in mind, the following rule applies with no exceptions:

The full amount of time booked will be charged or deducted for any lesson that is cancelled  with less than 24 hours notice

or any lesson that is simply not attended (no notice given).

This includes illness, emergencies and issues with travel.

The above rule also applies to changing the time of a lesson at short notice or re-scheduling a lesson to a different day, as this involves cancelling one appointment and making a new one.

Note: Until 22nd April 2025 half time may be charged / deducted for a cancellation with less than 24 hours notice (less than one hour notice or a no-show will be charged / deducted at full time). Anyone who paid for a block of hours prior to 22nd April 2025 will only be subject to these rules until all of those hours have been used.
